The contents mentioned here are based on information released thus far in interviews and whatnot, concerning Heavensward jobs.
I just wanted to reach out, and extend my heartfelt thanks to you guys, called here collectively as "Square Enix"!
My thanks concern the Paladin job specifically. Ever since I started to play some time after the release of the game, Paladin was the job for me. Always been a tank main in MMOs and always been kind of "Tanks wear shields, period" kind of fellow. The job appealed to me, it had its troubles and weak points often brought up. I leveled other classes also, and play with them too very frequently, but always did I stick with the Paladin. And now can say I am glad I did.
Community continuously brought up, over the course of last one and half years, the Paladin class seeming troubles. It was regarded a "simple" job to execute mechanically, with the focus much more on timing and effective use of your iconic damage reducing buff-bar reaching the length of a mile. The community, I myself included, brought up time and a time again some recurring points and improvement ideas for the class to be more interactive/rewarding/younameit.
Here are some of the most frequent (in my experience) points brought up over the course of said past time, and also *my opinion* on the scenery we have in sight come Heavensward.
The class' seeming lack of damage. - Check
Another combo to execute alongside of the classic 1-2-3. Preferably one that would be more DPS oriented. - Check & Check
Combo to branch out and make use of Riot Blade! - Check
More use for our MP that we can conveniently recover with Riot Blade. - Check
More interactive gameplay possibilities. - Check
More use for our iconic equipment, the shield! - Check (I am looking at you, new Block Skill, and the possibilities with tower shields vs. kite shields!)
More possibilities for party support. - Check
There are yet some frequently voiced things that have not received any word on them so far (oaths and GCD, for example), but all in all, I dare honestly say Square delivered! This serves to show that as a developers they do listen community feedback, and take it clearly in consideration.
Once more, as a keen Paladin main, thank you Square Enix!
