Glowing Relic Weapons

I sometimes see people with glowing relic weapons. How does one make a relic weapon glow?

When you get to level 50 and complete all your job quests, you can start the "Relic Reborn" quest chain for your class.

The initial relic weapon doesn't glow, but upgrading it to Zenith gives it a glow, and just requires 3 Thavnairian Mists (150 soldiery each from Auriana in Revenant's Toll).

After that you're looking at an increasingly massive wall of grinding to upgrade your relic through various stages. The next stage (Atma) requires farming low droprate items from FATEs in a bunch of different zones, and that changes the base model of the weapon slightly but removes the glow. The next stages require increasing amounts of annoying grinding and busywork but make it glow more vibrantly as you upgrade it through each stage. The penultimate step upgrades it to a Zodiac weapon with a new model, and the final step upgrades it to a Zeta weapon with the most intense glow.

It will start glowing once you get Zenith (see at the top of the page) for which you only need 3 Thavnarian Mists purchased from Auriana for 150 soldiery each, then take your weapon to the forge behind Gerolt.

One website will tell you that a relic will cost you a part of your soul. This is very true.

So for every stage of the relic weapon, the glow would dissapear and I have to repurchase Thavnarian Mists?

Almost finished! Just the alex. Oh, and the materia to go with it. Oh, and the light grind. Oh, and the dungeon drops...the 400k items....the 80k seals...the 6400 soldiery. Oh, and then the light again. But almost done!

To be honest I didn't mind it....now it's over :-)

getting the finished Zeta is no joke...still cannot believe I went through all that crap. But we will all do it again for the next weapon in 3.1, we are gluttons for punishment...hopefully the next one is more fun. No, it will be grindy as heck and we will do it anyway. Love you SE!!

No only zenith stage needs tav mists to glow the rest just come with he upgrade

Animus glow
Novus glow
Nexus glow
Zodiac no glow
Zeta glow

Yeah I would assume that the 3.1 weapon is going to be another grind fest but we already got used to it I guess heck I got 4 zetas now so yeah...
