Letter from the Producer .... Add Technical Section

Request: *Please add a “Technical” section to the Letter from the Producer.
Game Design, Content and Technical Limitations are three equal areas of the game that you are working to improve. * A dedicated discussion of the technical limitations that you are facing and addressing would give more transparency to the players who want to enjoy and evangelize FF XIV across the world. *

I read many of the posts in Dev Tracker and around the forum. *In those post many people complain about all the technical issues with the game such as sever lag and optimizing the game engine that persist to be a problem even a year after launch. People post about about adding features and the devs response tend to all sound like "we want to add this feature but it will be hard because of technical reasons." *

I understand having technical limitations but when there are first generation MMOs like FFXI and others that have shipped with basic features like a mail box system it just makes the dev team look unintelligent and not problem solvers. *I know the dev team is intelligent, but there are still so many technical annoyances with the game we can have all the content in the world and no one will enjoy the game. *

Today I was playing in Toto Rak and guess what someone sent me a tell and I wanted to respond and I hit the Windows Key instead of Control. *So the game crashes and I am kicked out of Toto Rak and we have to wait 5 mins to get back in the game after my party had to run to the beginning while I was logging in and had to reform the party. *There are so many technical issues in the one example and I can think of one simple fix and one complex fix that would lessen the likely hood of me experiencing these compounded technical problems.

Simple Fix: Disable the Windows Key in Full Screen, - can't be that big of an issue the FFXI team fixed their game that way. *Sure might be a band-aid but better then making thousands of players really upset.

Complex Fix: Make it so FFXIV won't crash when you hit the windows key and/or Adding the Windows Alt-Tab Feature like most every other game that runs on Windows.

As players we don't have the insight to all the technical limitations the FFXIV dev teams has. What we do know is we have played other games that seems technically inferior to FFXIV. It is hard for us to understand why a game with Final Fantasy branding lacks features we take for granted in other games and even in FFXI. I think it would go a long way for you guys to add a Tech section to the Letter from the Producer so we know what is planned for the game to get rid of all the technical annoyances of the game. I like everyone else on this forum want to have fun but is it very hard to enjoy the content when we can't even have a solid technical experience when consuming in-game content.
