Heavensward Dungeon Crawl video thoughts

I counted 8, possibly 9, new dungeons. I also made some observations of more FF throwbacks...

We already know Heavensward has some FFIX influence, with Ishgard being reminiscent of the city of Alexandria.

But I noticed some of the following reminded me of bosses from FFIX, plus some non-FFIX.

3:20 a library dungeon (there was a library dungeon in FFV)
4:02 Is that Tantarian the book boss from FFIX, or Byblos the book boss from FFV, or a new book boss for FFXIV? Or Demon Wall 3.0? Lol. If it is FFXIV's version of Tantarian/Byblos, I'm disappointed that it recycles Demon Wall's head and arms design. Guess when they release as much content as frequently as they do you have to recycle some stuff to shorten development time, while still making it new in some way.
5:28 This reminds me of Ozma from FFIX even though I doubt it is. It's probably a defense/security node of some type in what is probably one of the new 24 man raids.

Those are some of my observations.

Honestly I hope it is another demon wall, the tears will be delicious when people can't kill it fast enough :P

Lol, I really like the cathedral theme of the dungeon. I am not religious, but you don't have to be religious to like certain themes and settings in a fantasy game. I hope we get to fight the Pope and his evil henchmen.

I'm just VERY HYPED UP about the 2 allagan-themed dungeons at the end.

No, they're not Alexander or the 24-man raids. That video is similar to the "Dungeon Reel" they showed before ARR and that one didn't feature any endgame content.
Those are the 4-mens and possibly the ending of the Main Scenario. Or not.

Also, if that boss on the library dungeon is Byblos from FFV I'm gonna splurt love juices all over my underwear. Just saying.

I see only 7 dungeons : Dusk vigil, Great cathedral, Churning mist Dungeon, Ancient library, Weird dungeon with lots of crystals, Floating continent 1, Floating continent 2.

Funny thing is most of those dungeons are probably Main Scenario Dungeons to progress our storyline. :p

Omg, I forgot about Byblos. It could be him too. Also, thanks for the correction. I forgot Library of the Ancients was in V not IV. Got them mixed up. I think your guess is better than mine as it looks closer to Byblos than Tantarian. When I was creating the topic I kept thinking, "Wasn't there a book boss in the old library dungeon?" but then I thought that the boss of that library was Ifrit forgetting that there was more than one boss.

I just went back and watched video. You were closer than I was compared to my 10-12 estimate. I counted 8 accurately, possibly 9, but I think the allagan dungeons at the end were only 2 dungeons and not 3 even though music and theme changed 3 times with only the allagan style remaining. So if 2 allagan, then it was 8 dungeons I counted.
