Has anyone else noticed, that on the "Dragonsong" theme for Heavensward...

...There's a recurring instrumental motive that is CLEARLY the Theme from Guardia 600 A.D. from Chrono Trigger, only in a different key?

I mean, both are from the same composer and that's a pretty common technique... Just wondering if anyone else noticed ^^

I was too distracted by the BGM in Amdapor Keep HM sounding suspiciously like Twilight Princess at certain parts.

I thought the same thing !

There's a firm possibility that this is in fact true. Nobuo Uematsu worked on some of the music for Chrono Trigger and is returning to do the Heavensward music. Most of the music had some FF undertones to them, so having a reworking of some of the best Square titles hidden in them and adding that extra depth? Absolutely plausible and a good choice for them to go with.

Hah, it does sound really close.

Yasunori Mitsuda composed most of CT's soundtrack, though. Not sure how much of a hand Uematsu had in that particular song.

I'm actually not super into this song. I feel like it focuses way too much on the vocals, and never really reaches a satisfying crescendo... but maybe I just have to listen to it a few times. It took me a little while to warm up to Answers, and I didn't really love it until we got End of an Era.

Omg it is! It sounds exactly like it. I love that song from Chrono Trigger, that's awesome.

I've always found Andapor Keep(HM) and Tam Tara (HM) last boss song sounds just like Lavos's theme.
I freak out everytime.

The CHrono Trigger song's actual name is "Wind Scene", and it's NOT one of the 10 songs Uematsu composed for Chrono Trigger.

But Mitsuda don't own any copyrights for the song, Square Enix does. That being said, Uematsu was/is mainly free to use any leitmotifs from Chrono as he pleases, I guess.

I kinda like the homage =)

I noticed other connections, or possible inspirations. WP HM song has a couple places that sound like one of the tracks from starcraft I and another part that sounds like it was inspired by fire emblem.
