Known memory management issue with a handful of card families. There were threads at AMD's support site about it a while back. Don't know just how far they got towards a resolution though...seems to be more common with legacy games (as in DX9). With any luck it will be resolved with the upcoming DX11 client.
The work around players found here for this game was basically to reduce how much graphics/texture memory you use. Toggle the LoD option, enable stream caching, etc.
