My Review PART 2

Hi there, I'm doing a three part review of FFXIV if you want to check it out. So far I've made part 1 that focuses on the start of the game and part 2 which is about combat. Part 3 will be about crafting. At the end of part 3 I will also rate the game. You can also check out my character creation video and feel free to share any of my videos with others... I dont see this as a review in anyway, it seems more like a "First Look Tutorial" that is a year late.

You also state things incorrectly, like Reassign taking a day, you'd have to be like rank 900 to think that.

You also go on about attributes even though Patch 1.19 will temp remove it and the new one will not even have elemental attributes anyway so it will be a new window, so as of 1.19 your "tutorial" on it will be all out dated, and 1.19 is coming very, very soon.

You also talk about physical level which is being removed, theres no need, just state its being changed if its a proper review.

Your voice is great, cristal clear, the game isnt to quiet and isnt to loud so thats good, good quality, the editing could be done a bit better, watching you fight the moles was about as boring as it was ingame.

A review expresses a lot of things, it does not:
- only show 1 aspect
- only show 1 class
- only show 1 race
- only show 1 play style (keybored / mouse)
- only provide information that is more or less specific to the above 4 things i mentioned.

if you're into reviews then you should really refocus what you're going to say, script things better and do it as a review, this was like 97% beginners tutorial. If you're doing it for shiz'n'giggles then up to you haha.

And finally your ending credits were a bit weird, i dont get why its so long and weird, its a style that doesnt fit. Its like ice cream with samon. Only few dare do but it doesnt fit XIV's theme. Check out the surplus video, its very XIV themed.

Reviews compare things and dont really tell you how to play just say what hey are doing, check out mmohut reviews, the guy never breaths, just constant talks which could be annoying but its informative and he does stuff similar, its a first/impressions review, he does background hisory, he looks for future patch data and what not and says what game is like further on and what the community state, but the video and what he is doing is mainly char creation and first few levels.

Or check out akamikeb who does just general reviews and not always from being low level, he is more of a comedy reviewer but also keeps talking and isnt much saying what hes doing but more about the story.

Or check out zero punctuation which involves zero ingame shots or videos just his metaphoric insanely awesome graphics to illustrate whats going on and as the name suggests him talking, non stop, with zero punctuation, again more of a comedy one but it at least informs you of the story, the start, and gameplay and such.

More other, serious ones might be GT Reviews, which are very quality imo. Enjoy.

I respect what you are saying, viion, but I also know that the patch will be in a few months and I can easily make another set of videos for FFXIV when that happens. My intro/outro was not made to fit with any sort of game. I'm making videos about any kind of game and will be focusing more on the games I like later on which will be more of zombie/survival/horror theme. Now for that huge part on reviewing, a review just has to evaluate something and I personally want to evaluate a game while also explaining some things about it. In this case, mixing in aspects of a Let's play.

You forget that YouTube has a time limit for videos as well as the overall video size, which for standard members in only 2gb. To increase the quality of my videos as well as providing enough content while I am required to film another video to continue, I want to make each part within the range of 10 minutes. After all, each part has been released a day or so after another. As I did say in part 2, I will be rating the game at the end of part 3. You can't look at part 1 and 2 without part 3 and say what it is.

I simply can't explain an entire game within 10 minutes. I'm already talking faster than I normally do and for the record, nothing is scripted but rather said on the spot. I'm doing this on purpose to build up my mind so I can work on my wording and overall thoughts about a game. I also am making these videos fully aware I will need to make another few when the game is patched. I'm also aware I don't have a real audience yet and these are my baby steps in reviewing, I might as well try to have myself learn and practice some.

You can consider these first few videos as practice and finding my own style. I don't want to be another generic reviewer that has nothing special to offer. As far as I know, the people you listed have been doing this for awhile and I do know MMOHut has a partnership which allows him to film videos at any length without worrying about anything. He also can upload videos higher than 2gb so he can upload them in higher quality. He is also apparently a robot because he does not require air like I do.

I do apologize for my breathing tho. I'm not use to breathing in with my nose while talking which is something you would learn in general voice classes. Also my mic picks up any sound from within like 20 feet... So the clicks of my mouse and my breathing are not actually very loud, the damn mic just always picks it up. Heck, when I am recording my mic like extended 5 inches away from my mouth to the left of my head and it still hears my mouse clicking to the very right of my desk...

Damn thing. Please bare with it for now. As I've been saying, with time comes quality. I just have to work on things. You can't expect me to be perfect within a few days of starting.

That's another thing, look at when I uploaded my first video, it was literally 3 days ago... xD At least I'm willing to upload a lot of videos. But please support me if you can. Having people at my side who are willing to take my crappy videos until I get better would help a lot. As I said, I respect your opinion and I'd love to hear everyone elses.

I'm trying to be a bit different but if you really just want the same ol' thing, just tell me and I'll work my way to being like that.

I'm glad you liked it Victor. As for the others, I'm fine with them sharing their feelings about my videos even if they are negative. I am trying to learn and if a certain amount of people are not happy with the way I am doing my videos, by all means, I want them to tell me. I'd like to make videos that are worth watching but I also don't want to be generic unless that is what you all really want. I decided to check out the channels that viion listed and I'm not too impressed with what I saw.

They all tend to talk really really really fast and for the most part, most things they say just fly over your head because by the time you hear one thing, they are already saying ten other things. They also tend to try to be very comedic, I personally don't find comedy to be entertaining in a video that is suppose to be about video games. A few jokes here and there are nice but they just seem to overdo it. I could easily do the same thing, but I really don't want to. I want my videos to be more serious and focus on the actual game rather than having you think about randomly placed jokes throughout the video.

Anywho, I'll be working on my quality throughout time but as I said in my giant wall of text above, I've only been doing this for 3 days. The last time I made a video game related video on my personal channel was years ago.
