When somebody buys something from the MB it would be nice if they received an automated tell saying "Thank you for your purchase" and an offer to add them to your friends list for future sales. This would also help fill up your friends list so you stop receiving unwanted friend requests from gil sellers plus there would always be the option to remove a friend you'd bought from to add any additional friends. Its a win win situation.
So your solution to prevent unwanted friends request is to have the buyer deal with more unwanted friends requests? No thank you, thank you. Players have to deal with enough spam, as is. I'm sure most wouldn't be too thrilled with having to deal with more, especially when they're making multiple purchases, from multiple buyers.
You can just ignore friend request from spammers, it doesn't pop a window up in middle of screen making you click on something.
Please no ._. My friendslist is quite sizeable on its own already and a good quarter are probably aquaintances where I vaguely remember I had a fun conversation or so with them in party finder. If you add half anonymous buyers to that... nope. Plus it could mess with the economy if suddenly tons of people start doing private deals - more than they are now. Not to mention I always imagined the reason why sellers are represented by their retainers is so they can not be bothered by people trying to haggle the price down...
No, no no no, no. I don't need spam everytime I buy something off the MB. 99% of people who buy off the MB don't give a **** who they bought that item from. Next you will be asking for their email and to like your crafter's page on facebook.

This would result in me actively avoiding people known to do that on the market board.
And really, we just want our items cheap and fast. Who made it is of little concern to the average buyer.
To answer the topic title: No.
Hell no. If I get mail, I know it's of interest, I do not want it spammed because I buy junk off 15 different people.
