Is it possible for you to add Culex as a boss?

I don't really know how to consider this.. Final Fantasy and non-Final Fantasy related?

But is it possible to add Culex, a boss from Super Mario RPG, to FFXIV? I was having a nostalgia moment listening to the Super Mario RPG sound track and it reminded me of the boss fight with Culex. I did some research on him and he was never considered a boss in the Final Fantasy series, he was also considered a Dark Knight working under a Dark Mage (Assuming a BLM.)

I know Super Mario RPG was developed by Squaresoft, published by Nintendo. (I honestly don't know how it works) But it would be nice to add a boss that was a reference to Final Fantasy since it did have the FFIV boss theme and FF victory fanfare AND the main theme after defeating him.

My guess is that despite being developed by Squaresoft, Nintendo hold the final say since the game he's in was a Nintendo product. Probably an unlikely cameo.

Not saying it's a bad suggestion, but there are so many other Enemies/Characters/Places from games actually carrying the FF-Title I would rather see than this.

I think it may be the other way around. Geno, another original character from Super Mario RPG, made a cameo in Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga and the credits for the game included "Character "Geno", reserved by SQUARE ENIX CO., LTD"

Based on that, it appears that Square holds to the rights to its original creations inside Super Mario RPG.

Normally I would be against this sort of series cross over...but I loved Super Mario RPG so much, I'd be willing to let it slide :P

They mentioned he had a similar image to Kefka.. but that's besides the point. I mean if Ultros was thrown in there as a boss for the side story of Hildibrand, why not make Culex a side story of another scenario? FFXIV is really good on hitting the nostalgic feels. :]

And since Geno's reserved by Square ENIX, it wouldn't hurt to put him in the game as an easter egg :P

Which is why I mentioned him being a side story to another scenario. Since side stories are optional, it'd give players a break from the main scenario if they do plan on taking a break from it. Another thing would be the abilities they used, since some abilities are Super Mario related (Dark Star), they can come up with original abilities for the boss.

Honestly? I think this is a cool idea!

I mean, due to the nature of Culex, the fight would have to take place in a section of The Void, similar to World of Darkness. However, that wouldn't necessarily be THAT hard.

...and the abilities could largely remain intact from SMRPG, just have them look and operate differently.
