So just finished my first Zeta. Sat there stating at it zooming in and out for awhile as if in a trance. I definitely won't be doing another!
Kudos to those out there with multiple Zeta. Masochistic tendencies aside, I salute you! God knows how you could do that to yourself..
When you started may or may not be skewing your view. Between the time each step first came out and now, the Relic quest line has undergone several step difficulty reductions.
Zenith: Costs less tomes
Atma: Drop rate buffed considerably
Animus: Books cost less tomes (and this is the only truly hair-pull annoying step)
Novus: Alexandrite gathering was buffed in every way over time except the once-per-day Expert roulette staying once-per-day
Nexus: Light gathering rate doubled
Zodiac: Not quite buffed, but when you finish the quest once, you can freely get the quests again to re-gather the items from dungeons casually while running content for any other reason. Until then, the other potential hair puller.
If you've been involved with making one from scratch back when it was Relic +1 by name, then it's DEFINITELY easier now, no worries. If you came in after a while and are still zoned out after said buffs to the system, though, hope you really like the Zeta you have now. :p
Zeta: Already horribly easy to begin with, pretty sure its light value rate was boosted like the Nexus' step
getting a zeta is enough masochistic even if it means getting it once, no offense :D
I got my blm zeta first, just got my whm one last week <3 I love the grind!
Whm first and now working on bard with just a few mahatma left.
Subsequent ones don't take as long, because you can do many of the stages at the same time, though the 2000 light grind remains the longest. You can fate grind for alex's and get light at the same, or go for the dungeon items while getting light as well.
I have blm and whm zetas, sch is on it's last mahatma, nin is about halfway through mahatma and I have the dungeon items ready for when my pld light grind is done :)
True the light grind is long but to be honest the dungeon drops is taking much longer. My first Zeta was bad, this time around far worst it seems.
I was using the dungeons as both to gain light and possible drops which i only have 3 drops and almost at Nexus stage.
However i decided i will be tossing out the Nin Novus scroll i started, i just cannot take this ridiculous RNG anymore, lol
The way I got through most of it was I kept reminding myself "I'm better than most people".... some how it seemed to work really well.
I have my cane at the nexus stage with all but 2 dungeon drops. Maybe I should finish it...
It's amazing what you can do when you're bored enough. Made Zetas for my smn, brd and drg. As I finished my drg, I was certain I was done. And yet, here I am making a war zeta now.
