The Emperor's New Fists, or Cestus-type weaponry.

As much as I love my Monk, our weapon choice can be quite... interesting sometimes. Dreadwyrm Claws are one of the most awkward looking weapons thus far.

Wouldn't it be great if we could just pummel our enemies with our fists alone, weapon hidden from sight?

Heck, I'd settle for anything that wasn't a fist-load weapon. Some Monks in MMO's use a Cestus, where it's basically a glove with protective covering on the back of the hand and forearm with studs or spikes on the knuckles. I understand there would probably be clipping issues with this one, but then again, when isn't there.

I just really hope there's less hideous options in the future for Monks... Wootz Knuckles had the right idea, but once again, we're holding on to them and it just makes us look like psuedo-Slendermen or something.

I forgot the thread in the General Discussion tab, but they have already said they are looking into 'Emporers new' item for Monks (but not for any other class)

Most PGL and MNK weapons would be amazing if it weren't for the fact that we're holding them by the bottom. One reason Garuda's / Vortex talons are my glamour of choice is because the gauntlet-style appearance of them actually makes it look like I'm holding a handle in a glove, not punching with a damn chakram or something.
The worst offenders I've seen are the Kaiser Knuckles, Dreadwyrm Claws, and Serpent Elite's Claws, and as said above, it's because they're held in a way that looks like we should be swinging them around instead of punching with them. Just work the models of them to move about halfway down our hands and it'd be alright...

I just don't get it, who would think that holding some heavy object by a handle and trying to do a punch with it would actually work as an effective weapon.

I suppose it's easier to animate rather than working every weapon into the hand of each character.

It's why I'm looking forward to the AF2, because it actually covers your hand.

I like tremor claws for that reason. Feels like an extension to my fists that would seem to work at pummeling something. The claws just seem awkward when you're doing a punching animation instead of a slashing one.

lol popcorn. Titan egi is a chicken nugget and his fists are popcorn. Nice culinary theme.
