This is the first mmorpg I've ever played with a controller. Never would have even imagined it would ever work. But it does, and when I get in the rhythm, it's pretty great....
But those times when you get distracted for a second, or click the wrong hotbar tab....man. Or when you click the l3 and focus on a single target while you frantically trying to dodge something....catastrophe. Anyone with me?
Sort of. I can't play with a keyboard/mouse to save my life, so I'll gladly give a few derpy button presses for basic function, haha.
Yeah I know right the cross-bar they created for playing on console blew me away when I got into Beta, thought it was pretty genius way of mapping so many commands. Once you get used to the layout its very easy to use a contoller :)
I cant play with mouse/keyboard even on PC so I still use a pad on there too lol
You ever get the map open, or some menu that you just can't get shut....and the more buttons you click the worse it gets?
Also, I guess I have to factor in cocktails. Cocktails can make me forget left from right.
Just press Square til the map menu is highlighted again and then circle to close it or do what I did: change the map transparicy setting so you can use it while running round the zones - makes life easier :)
Theres some gudies online for configuring the Cross-Bar/Pad settings I'd have a look and set it to how you like it :)
Oh Circle always backs out of menues and start brings up the main menu tab again/closes it.
The hilarious part is I started this game on PS3 back in the first few months following launch. Before long I got the entire system down to second nature. Around November-ish I got a new computer with a Naga Razer mouse, so I switched to PC. It was an awkward transition, but the mouse made it significantly easier (though there were a few things I was too nervous to do on PC for a while, I still had to switch back to PS3 to tank anything comfortably). It's been almost a year and a half since then, and now I can't play -anything- with a controller anymore to save my life.
Haha! been there. As tank I have charged in and somehow managed to swap actions around, an edit menu comes up, I find my way out of it, only to get stuck on lock on target and get slammed by an aoe with mobs belting into the healer. Always a poor start to a dungeon <Im sorry><please forgive me>. Doesn't happen often, but terrible when it does!
I noticed sometimes (Very rarely) when you put the charge wire in the back of the PS4 controller about 5 minutes later it just dies and doesn't turn back on until you reset the console. wierd.
You can go system config > Controller > Button Config > Change L3 to whatever else you want.
