Can we please have a way to unlink our accounts from steam?

I'm very much okay with buying a new version of FFXIV:AAR if it means I can get away from steam with this game. Could SE please make this an option some how. Tell me I'm not the only one.

I doubt you will since it's a deal with steam. Link your account with a ARR box and then upgrade that and just don't use steam.

Pretty sure I'm already SOL. My current version of ARR is a steam version. I'm torn between starting over with a new account completely separate from steam or just quitting entirely. I guess a better question would be if I add a new service account will I be able to play my current main character.

Not being able to use a key from the "Heavensward CE" physical copy.

can't you buy the normal PC version and register it to your account?

What say Mogstation what platforms are registered to your account? Have steam an own platform tag on Mogstation or use it the PC tag?

Nope, the steam version of ARR can only be upgraded with a steam version of Heavensward

As far as I know you can think of Steam as a "platform", like pc/ps3/ps4.
So, if there are players who can bounce between ps4 and pc with one account, you should be able to do the same with your current account.
Keep in mind that you will have to buy a new version of FFXIV:ARR and you want to make sure that this version matches up with your CE - so PC FFXIV:ARR + PC HW CE.
Either way, you should be able to use your existing account since your current account is tied to Mog Station and the SE Account system.

As far as I know, this is correct, or I would assume its correct. I have copies of ARR on PS3/PS4 and PC and I can log in on any of them right now with current character. I would assume steam would be no different.
