Heavensward pre order is not valid for my region.

Hi,

I have decide to pre order window collection edition - digital version - from square enix online store and I honestly, thought It'll be fine for me to pre order from this website because it is 'square enix' which is FFXIV is under square enix.

And I have gotten the code for pre order bonus and I follow the instruction for 18 letters codes and then I came up to this message

"This code is not valid for your region. Login with a Square Enix account belonging to the correct region"

Now I am worried about the money I have spend on Heavensward collection edition - window digital version- and I would not able to use it?

Help would be much appreciate, thank you for your time to read this :)

Which region did you buy the original game for? Your Heavensward version has to be the same - if your account is an EU account, you have to buy EU Heavensward, if it's a NA account you need NA Heavensward.

How do I find this sort of information? I am from Australia so i always have thought that I bought the account through NA?

I don't know. Being from Australia has little to do with it, both the NA or EU version would work for you - considering that the Heavensward version you bought was the wrong one though, I'd suspect that your account belongs to the other region. I can't tell you how to check for sure, though.

I know if I log into Mogstation and go into "Square Enix Account Settings" > "Account Information" then enter the DoB you entered when you registered, they'll show you the region registered for your account. I'm not sure if that will solve the problem, but its the only way I know off that shows your account region.

Problem is if it's the wrong region, then you'll either have to rebuy the game...well actually you'll have to re-buy the game anyway. Either re-buy 3.0 or re-buy 2.0. I don't think they'll refund once you get your codes.

yep it is "Europe & Other Regions", so I think I'll need to contact NA to see if they can refund the money or something along this line :/ but honestly, it shouldn't matter at all..

Hopefully I'll able to get someone from square enix to do the magic! heh

Considering it's a pre-order, you shouldn't even have been billed yet and it should be easy to reverse. Good luck anyway! I've had nothing but horrendously negative experiences with SE support, so I hope it'll work out for you.
