Anyone heard if the new jobs are getting...

Magitek weapons or not? Especially with the Poetics double today, I'm REALLY hoping that's the case, if not only aesthetically (cause I love the style of the Ironworks set) but as that sort of 'super jump start' for prepared individuals once HS drops.

No word on it. I would not hold my breath. They are getting primal weapons. All this ~130 gear is only good up until lvl55 ish.

I'm curious as to what makes you say that? Is there a levelling dungeon confirmed to drop i140 gear already or something?

No lol. In fact they said the opposite. The gear (and wod gear) will be useful in hw and they said something regarding the ilvl. How it wont be going up sp fast, more horizontal progression, altho we haven't been told yet how the ilvl is changing :)

So the dream lives on! :D I really hope they do make Ironworks weapons for them.

I personally main tanks and look sooo forward to Dark Knight, I already have an almost full fending set.

Astrologist Ironworks weapon could look AMAZING if done right.

Machinist only makes sense. :3

They said a larger than normal ilvl jump for 3.0, I expect 140/150 for new uncapped tome gear/Alexander and 160/170 for new capped tome and Alexander hard.

New relic weapons will probably start around 150, but having a 130 would be a huge help in getting them.

I haven't seen anything on horizontal progression, but would welcome it.

I've been wondering the same thing for months. I'd love to know so I can either put aside the tomes and tokens for those weapons, or spend them on something else.

This was confirmed in one of the live letter Q&As recently. I don't recall which but can confirm they said current i130 gear would last up until about lvl55, at which point you'll start replacing it with new Heavensward gear of higher ilvl. You didn't honestly expect the current i130 cap to remain in place up until level 60 did you?

Bear in mind that the ilvl required to access Heavensward is i90 based on the Steps of Faith trial, so it's natural that the first few levels of the expansion will be bridging the gap from i90 - i130. This would mean that i100 - i130 gear should drop in Heavensward dungeons or be obtainable via expansion content in some form; it won't necessarily be Ironworks et al. but equivalent stats. This is also how most other MMOs handle endgame equipment tiers going into an expansion.
