Plans for a Cutscene re-viewer?

This is a pretty trivial feature, but it'd be nice to be able to rewatch cutscenes.
Some of them (okay... just two) were pretty ***ing awesome.

My biggest reason would be to rewatch them with all the sweet gear I have now (as opposed to the misamtched Canvas set I had back then...), but also because I basically forgot what the hell is happening in the story line. I'd like to be able to sit and take time to actually read/watch what was/has been taking place.

Sure, I can go to YouTube and watch all the cutscenes that some person recorded, but it's not quite the same when its not your character.

Obviously, I want the actual game fixed first (make stats matter, give me defined roles in jobs, etc etc), but just I'm saying a Goblin Footprint-esque feature would be an awesome addition somewhere around 1.20~

EDIT: Also, I just rewatched the R46 mission scene and totally forgot about one of my biggest complaints.

I feel like around R46, our characters should be able to "kick ass" per se, but instead, all we do is stand in the background and let the 4 NPCs from the City storylines do the fighting for us. I mean, I don't want us to be the equivalent to a Legatus, but I should be able to at least hold my own alongside those NPCs....

I'd love to see an argument against it though just for the fun of it. I can't think of one without using the word immersion or the phrase new gen mmo player.

I think it was a JP rep that responded to a question on the JP side saying they want to but they're thinking of a way to implement it

In FFXI you never really fight in a CS because once that done you fight it for real so why fight it in a CS? I think it's the same in FFXIV you watch the npc fight they lose then you enter CS over and you fight it then CS of it dieing and the npc saying great job.

I think its implied that all those NPCs are MUCH more powerful than you though. I just saw that cs yesterday and have rewatched it a couple times on youtube cause it's so awesome =P

Because you don't actually fight anything in parts you play. The storyline missions Accomdate people who do Nothing but Craft, and the presentation suffers for it.

For more informations, Jynx has proposed a Goblin Footprint-like system that lets you watch the cutscenes all over again, including a mockup.

Given out ability and such that the storyline talks about, we have a good way to be able to review them and have it in game without it just being a feature with now reason behind it.
