For instance if you have 99 Iron Nuggets and another stack of 5 Iron Nuggets, if you deplete the first stack by 8 nuggets, you'll be left in your inventory with a stack of 91 Iron Nuggets and another one of 5 Iron Nuggets, and trying to toggle on/off Sort will not correct this.
You can correct this by putting the 5 nuggets in your bazaar, then taking them out I think. Or trading with your retainer.
