1-handed BLM staffs/wands

Where did they go? :o I really liked the concept of being able to have a wand type weapon while holding a shield. Even if we don't get hit most of the time I'd like to see this re-added or add the ability to glamor a one handed wand and shield to the two handed staffs. :(

They haven't gone anywhere; there just haven't been any new ones introduced past iLvl 95 (Tremor Cudgel and Inferno Cudgel).

I didn't mean literally. XD What I meant was it seems like the combo has been forgotten in favor of the 2-handed staffs.

i am SO glad they didn't bring new one handed weapons and i hope they will never bring new ones. so sad to didn't get anything at 1/3 of the content like primal fights where other classes have weapon drops. i am a whm, so no garuda, mog and levi weapon for me D:

would be okay if they bring a one handed and a two handed version for every weapon / primal fight. but most people - like me - hate the one handed weapons and will not use them. so why invest time and money to make a weapon which so many people will never use?

please SE: remove the one handed weapons

btw: where is the point in using a shield? i am a mage, not a tank.

Totally agree with you on this.

The point of a two handed weapon is it is stronger, on a per-hit basis, than a one handed weapon. Not that FF14 has followed that trend, mind you ...

Anyway, when they have to make things equal, for a given ilevel and class, why make them split the stats between two slots? Take them all in the one slot. You're not melding to the items, you know.

Van of the Vortex HQ, i95 THM BLM 2h : 71 Magic Damage, 35 Vitality, 34 Intelligence, 27 Accuracy, 19 Wind Resistance, 39 Spell Speed.
Inferno Cudgel HQ, i95 THM BLM 1h : 71 Magic Damage, 25 Vitality, 24 Intelligence, 19 Accuracy, 14 Fire Resistance, 20 Determination

Ignoring the Spell Speed, Determination, and resistances for the moment, the 1h is 0 Magic Damage, 10 Vitality, and 10 Intelligence behind the 2h. If you want the NQ, it is 8 Vitality and 9 Intelligence behind.

The absolute best Shield I could find on the Lodestone for a THM/BLM is the Ancient Buckler, i90. Vitality 9, Intelligence 9, Accuracy 11, Spell Speed 7.

Combine the HQ 1h and the shield, and you are still down 1 Intelligence and 1 Vitality. Comparing the NQ versions, you're up 1 Vitality.

Yeah, not worth the hassle of two slots.

Not only BLM, also WHM have one handed wand & sheilds. I think the game was planned to have several aspects that are being forgotten:

- BLM & WHM One-Hand arms.
- Deity, Race, Gender, Ekement & DOB.. have minimal effect so far.
- Cross skills that could be used in classes but not in jobs.

I sure had hopes that Classes would be vital as Jobs, to give varaiety. Far I know from some Archer/Bard saying that Archerer's hits are way better than Bard's. Yet you see due that we don't use classes many are aking to demolish classes and seperate SMN/SCH because there is no meaning to classes.

Same could be said about the one-hand arms for CNJ/WHM & THM/BLM. Since higher level arms are all teo-hand held, one-hand should be demolished. Unless we will be seeing next step to Relic to be two pieces for WHM/BLM similar to PLD relic.

if they will make a two piece relic for WHM i will quit the game. i NEVER used that stupid one handed weapons and i will never do.

I agree with not having to make a two piece relic for whm, but i can't say i would leave the game for it.

I personally want to see some WHM wand and shield combos. They could have the exact same stats as a 2 handed equivalent, but just be for glamor.

As for "i'm a whm why am i using a shield".. honestly, who cares? One or two people saying they don't want it isn't a majority by any means.

the shield is better for pvp. if you blocking an attack it doesn't interrupt your cast.
