A Minor QoL for item rolls

Only people with inferior gear can roll "Need" on an item thats suited to their class/job. Say you have 2 DoM's. BLM is i120 and the SMN is i90. If the gear that drops is better than what the SMN currently has, only the SMN can roll need. However for premade groups, this can be toggled on and off before the duty starts to suit the needs of the group.

This has been brought up many many times. It's not going to happen with a glamor system in place. A lot of people get the gear for glamor purposes. The only thing you can really do about it, is kindly ask for the roll stating that it would be a nice upgrade and hope the other person is cool with it. I know I usually pass if someone asks me to unless I absolutely need it but yeah sorry, never going to happen. So you can't roll for WoD gear if you have Augmented Magitek for example? Funny thing is, higher ilvl doesn't always equate to better gear. The poetics top for bard is a horrendous waste of a slot, while the Demon Top is actually way better despite being of a lower ilvl. It's really hard to tell whether a specific piece of gear is actually an upgrade to someone unless the ilvl difference is vast.

Plus those glamours.

Dungeon gear drops can be used for many things: to equip, to use as glamour, to desynth, or to turn in for seals. All are valid.

Yes it would be a quality of life change. One for the worse.

Then many would equip gear just good enough to fulfill the minimum ilevel check, even if they have better gear in the armory chest.

On the other side, this would make the dungeons a challenge again ^^

Bad idea. Sorry, but you aren't entitled to an item over other people running the same instance just because your current item is of lower ilevel.

Alright, I'll just make sure to equip minimum ilevel gear on my tank for each instance. That should be fun.
