What support classes do you suppose will be necessary for the new machinist?
My hope is for archer and rogue. Although, lancer is likely to be one of them (and hopefully) if machinist doesn't have its own TP restoration ability.
If most the new skills in heavensward are gotten through quests though, they might be moving away from the cross-class system. They could just as easily not, but currently all abilities obtained through quests are unique to that class/job.
I speculate Archer and Lancer based on current trends. It'll be majorly disappointing if it's boring old Lancer + Pugilist like they gave NIN and BRD, the other two DEX classes, but it could unfortunately happen.
Though as the person above mentions, they could change it up in 3.0, or Machinist might have its own TP restoration traits/ability that make Invigorate not needed on a TP user DPS for once.
It's probably going to be rogue due to none of the existing classes being able to borrow from rogue skills.
I'd wager on archer and lancer personally. They tend to give jobs at least at least 1 that kinda fits with the job of choice. CNJ and BLM getting ACN, ROG getting PUG, MRD getting GLA and vice versa. ARC seems like a good fit for MCN, and, as has already been stated multiple times, if they don't have their own TP restore, well, they're going to need LNC for invigorate, as SE's trend seems to be endgame that pushes tp management to the absolute breaking point. It could be ROG. That would be hugely disappointing though, as the ROG cross class skills are probably the most blah cross class skills out there. I'm kinda hoping they might add a third cross class to each job, as most jobs already have as many useful skills as they can possible have from their current available classes (looking at you smn).
Hawk's eye on another dex class. I'd love this but I doubt they do it. Lancer and rogue is my bet. Another goad please.
Archer and Rogue is what I suspect.
It is a stand alone job..so, none would be my guess. I suspect they are changing things up quite a bit like they said at nico nico..and we will find out more in the middle of May, at the live letter in France :)
None, because it won't have a base or secondary class.
