So is the relic even worth it in the end?

I started playing ff again after about 1 year and i'm kinda confused about what the relic has evolved to...

My current stage is atma(i remember getting all of them in 2-3 weeks and i really hated it) but now it seemed to have taken many more stages to reach an i135 weap. My question relies only on the grind of the whole thing and if it is worth it. I tried to get feedback from people who own zeta and 80% tell me that it's really bad but i see many people in my server with zeta nowadays. Someone, however, got his zeta in 3 weeks time and that made me wonder of the progression since when a new stage is introduced something(?) in the previous stage is nerfed.

So please give me your feedback on your relics (i started animus yesterday) but i really want to know if the next stages got a nerf so i can progress more easily unless i give it all up and just go for the ironworks. If there is an average amount of total gil to be spent i would really like to know.

The stages pre-zodiac are definitely easier than they were before. Atma drop rates were increased. Atma book fate spawn time has been increased. The alexandrite drop rate has been increased from fates, allowing you to farm up 75 alexandrites in less than a week. Light gain has been doubled. the only thing that takes long now is just the dungeon drop items for the zodiac. the zeta light farm can be done in about 1-3 weeks casually.

Is it worth it? To some, it might be. For example, my Zeta is maxed out in Crit and Det and those two values are probably higher than the Dreadwyrm Longbow, so it was very well worth it for me anyway. For those who dont raid often, it could be worth it for them as well because it IS lv135 weapon.

TL/DR: Its far easier than before to get up to pre-zodiac stage. it can be worth it depending how u "make" you weapon. Nothing has been said about current relics effecting future relic in expansion

Yes the old stuff get nerfed but is it worth doing now? not sure that really up too you. There adding a new relic quest chain line in 3.1 and our old relic would be useless. Ya sure they said they may allow us to turn in our old weps for some type of reward that help us in the new quest line. But who knows if that really worth the time.

They said they going to nerfed the relic quest in 3.0 release so people can glamour the part they like. So i'm guess from this information it's become even less worth it for me. I would just get ironworks or turn 13 weps to help you out in 3.0 imo.

It is so optional, you should only do them if you are a completionist with a lot of time to fill and aren't going to be pained by a grind/rng.

From a battle effectiveness point of view it will become obsolete in time like all items. Warrior's Ragnarok is kind of nice for glamor.

Going to be irrelevant in 3.1 but u do get the awesome "Z" title
Or u can do crystal tower weekly for 2 weeks + 1300 poetics for the i130 weapons

But the zeta is bis because of the custom stats, I have ragnarok and Excalibur both with crit/det, so easy to keep threat

If you want it, it's worth it. End of story.

It's worth it if you want it to be.

That's really no incentive to actually go for it. And that's like two major patches away. Anyway, did we ever get word of what the "bonus" to completing Zeta for Heavensward was?

Not yet. When they said there will be a bonus, it seemed like they hadn't actually decided themselves yet what the bonus will be. Not really the highest priority task in the grand scheme of things.

There was no said bonus for those having a zeta already only words along the lines "Those with a Zeta will be taken into consideration"
I honestly do not think it will be all that much and i guess sad for those of us who have grinded atmas for 3-4 months and so forth before the drop rates were increased. C'est la vie.
Currently if you stat your relic correctly for many of classes it is better then both the Augmented and the Dreadwyrm weapon so i guess depends on what your plans are before 3.0
Also my thoughts are i am holding off finishing My Ninja Relic (currently at 52/75 Novus stage) until expansion as it will be nerfed again.
