Better glamour system?
Rather than re-coding items to accept job-specific glamours, which is clearly never going to happen in the name of more armoury space, wouldn't it be better/easier to do the following?
- Make a "costume" slot. Put it right under "feet", across from your job stone.
- Make a "costume" item (or it could be a "mannequin") that you equip to this slot
- The whole point of the costume/mannequin is that you can glamour equipment onto it
- For example, you could glamour an ironworks hood of casting on the "head" of the costume/mannequin, a felt bliaud on the "body", etc.
- When you equip the costume/mannequin, it overwrites the appearance of whatever slots it has glamours for, abiding by the usual restrictions of job
- This would allow you to have multiple costumes/mannequins, and would still follow the same glamour prism system currently in place
- You could still glamour items individually if desired, costume/mannequin just gives you an option that lets you pick a glamour set per job
Presumably this would be less data than making each item's glamours job-specific?
Honestly, I'm not sure why the system wasn't set up like this to begin with, since a lot of people will play stuff like BLM and SMN, PLD and WAR, and want them to look, well, DIFFERENT.

I was just logging on the forums to post the SAME exact thing. I'm tired of my Scholar and my White Mage having matching outfits, I would absolutely love a new way around the glamours that let me separately glamour BOTH jobs. Plus, I believe these types of suggestions will be much more common with the release of Heavensward considering Warrior, Paladin, & Dark Knight will share the SAME Glamour, just Scholar, White Mage, and Astrologian.

I'd rather they just make it so glamour attaches it to that slot for that class (think like how hotbar settings are saved). So, when I glamour my taffeta shawl, it's not overwriting my daystar robe, but rather my white mage chest slot. And likewise they could treat it like equipping equipment, so you CAN glamour multi-slot gear, but if you have a cowl glamoured and then glamour glasses, the cowl will be unglamoured.

I would just prefer that gear wasn't class specific when you're glamouring. There's a lot of really neat looking warrior gear that I can't equip because I'm a caster. The exception could of course be the unique job gear you get from your last few job quests.....
EDIT: Though I guess it doesn't really have anything to do with this thread in particular, lol.....

@gamer3447
I have to respectfully disagree. I would be disappointed if I saw a caster in heavy tank gear.

I want a DCUO-style glamour system, personally. And as a crafter, I am 110% okay with the removal of all glamour prisms for this to happen.

In addition to having a "mannequin" equip item, I would totally dig if it could be displayed in FC/personal houses! Not feeling that outfit but still wanna look at it? Have it on display in your room~ :D
But props on the concept!

been quite afew posts on this topic since glamours were introduced, I agree they need some sort of overhaul due to jobs all looking the same.
I liked the idea of a second page fr each job that was purely for glamour so whatever you equipped there over wrote the appearance of what your main armour piece was, your idea seems very similar. hopefully SE sees fit to looking into changing it to a better system.
