How Come there's like an avg. 12:1 ratio of Dev Replies JP:NA?

Our PVP Forum hasn't been touched in what feels like forever & a mass majority of our replies deal with pre-order concerns & little else.

We have threads that go unresponded to that reach upwards of 300 upvotes.

And threads that stay on the front page for entire weeks, sometimes.

Yet, we've seen so little activity for a while now, what is going on? I'm sincerely curious.

Some ingenious ideas to drastically reduce the RMT spam & the only response we get in what feels like ages?

One interview Q posted on Reddit where Yoshi-P just reiterates the fact that there is a special task force dedicated to handling RMT (3 whole people)...

...which, basically tells us nothing.

What is up Dev Team :) can we talk?

I've separated EU & NA because of the language barrier.

Also, I'm contextually looking within the past few months.

As well, it's a very, very rough estimation, hence the "like."

Lastly, I didn't do hard math... which I thought I made pretty obvious :-/.

Sure they are devs and not com reps? The devs should spend their time better than reading the forum.

And why japanese players get more answers is because their com reps don't need to translate it for the readers.

I wish that the Dev team was more responsive to our concerns, but the reason the the JP forums get more responses is simple. The forums are in Japanese and don't have be translated first to reach them. The higher ups can go on them themselves and easily see what the JP community is talking about. With the exception of Koji, I don't think there is really anyone else higher up in the team that spends any significant amount of time on the English forums.

It really is all down to the fact that the dev team are natively Japanese, and the repercussions of that.

To get word to them, we have to have community reps take posts/opinions/ideas, dilute them down to actual questions/requests/actionable feedback, translate and pass them to the dev team, and hope to get a response. Hope because it's entirely possible there'll be a "You know, we have no idea so give us some time to investigate what this'd actually take and then we have an answer you can pass back" or "We're not ready to talk about this yet so don't say anything" etc. Hell, even if, say, people said "hey can we have x feature" and the community reps knew x feature was coming, they'd still need permission to talk about it if it hasn't been formally announced yet.

On the Japanese boards, there's just a lot faster turnover rate.

I mostly miss when forum comments in Japanese were actively translated by fans for the English community. If there is anyone who continues to translate in a similar manner that would be great to know.

We need more active representation for NA then.

See, even with JP getting like 12:1 posts, I also see EU getting like 4:1 posts in the Dev Tracker as well.

I think we need more frequent translating NA>JP to the Dev's.

We should get a few dedicated, NA forum-goers to translate our posts & repost them in Japanese on the JP boards...

Because they speak and read Japanese as their first (and some their only) language? sometimes the substance may not even really be worth translating or they have time to condense several posts in Japanese into a single post in English. That and how many times would you expect they answer the same question? I see so many posts in english forums that have been answered, by the reps, yet are continuously brought up. Egi's and RMT for example. Both have been addresses and one even has weekly reports on what has been done. This is a Japanese game, I'm happy that we even get a response at all.

PS: I miss Reinheart. I loved his threads....

And that's assuming they do see it. Though I'm sure they do their hardest to make sure everything in the day gets a look see, our general reliance of intermediaries to the devs does play into the idea of raising the chances of getting a response to a issue by making multiple threads.

Because this is a Japanese game made by a Japanese company.
