Just a brief question regarding the Monk's ability "Dragon Kick".
Sometimes when I use the ability, the debuff icon will not appear on my target even though the hit has connected (I see the damage pop up with "Dragon Kick" next to it). Am I missing something about this skill? Is this a bug?
This happens occasionally when theres is a raid. If there is more than one monk sometimes you guys will override eachothers buffs. Happens alot with ninja too. Otherwise it would just be a latency issue.
You need to be in Opo-opo form for the debuff to appear, so if you're opening with DK without perfect balance up, you're not going to get the debuff on.
Also, if you're going into Dragon Kick AFTER Perfect Balance is over, you won't be in a form at all, so you won't get the debuff either.
Yep. Best to open with bootshine to begin with (same damage, but DK can potentially do less if positioning messes up), then it should start applying after Snap Punch / Demolish / Rockbreaker. And like above, it will apply during Perfect Balance, but not after it drops until you've done a full rotation again :)
Aaahh, ok, I can see that working now. Thanks a bunch! I was indeed opening with Dragon Kick, and that was my problem. :P
Some debuffs will just plain not show in 24 man content.
For example, I have only my debuffs set to show on the target. Despite that, in any world of darkness run it's not uncommon that even when my touch of death, dragon kick, or demolish connect, sometimes the debuff will not show up at all even if the damage is still ticking.
It's even more crippling if you play a summoner because you need to keep track of your dots and it's kinda aggravating not being able to and you need to fester and it's a guessing game whether the dot is still up because even reapplying the DoT may not make it visible.
