Farming Alexandrite on PLD, two quick questions

Do I need both the Curtana Animus and Holy Shield Animus equipped for Alex to have a chance at dropping, or will just one of them do the trick?

Also do I need either or both of them equipped while doing Mysterious Maps, or will it always drop from the chest regardless of my current class/weapon?

Not sure about the 1st one, but mysterious maps will always give you alexandrite, whatever class or weapons you are using. Watch out for cyclops though if you are soloing mysterious maps.

Maps no and fate drops I'm sure it's just the sword you need.

No you do need the sword on shield didn't but the sword is the main weapon and it needs to be on for alexanderites to drop from fates but not maps.

No, you don't. One or the other.

No requirement for maps. Working on WHM novus now, I use WAR for my daily quest and occasionally for the map. Even when on WHM I use Yagrush.

You can get alex with just holy shield animus on, i farmed most mine while doing books for my curtana.
