Primal: 72 Man Secure Revival!

Lets try and make this happen... it's going to take people from each GC queueing up in sufficient quantities, and with a mixture of different-sized parties, perhaps it will create 3 alliances per GC and fill that in with roulette and solo joiners.

Pretty much everyone in my FL LS I've asked agrees on this much:

- We like 72 Man Secure > 24 Man Secure. 24 Man Secure isn't simply a 'lite' version of 72 Man Secure, it's a different game altogether where full on 8 v 8 conflicts rarely happen (and if you do engage in one, the third GC will be off getting all the objectives unchallenged and getting first place if they're smart).
- Not a single one of us has been able to play one 72 Man Secure match in the months since Slaughter mode came out and divided the already-problematic queues into two even more problematic queues.
- Attempts to queue for Secure matches as a group have only resulted in wasted time... not a 72 Man match, and not even a 24 Man match unless we're really lucky and even then we're settling for a game mode we don't even like as much.
- Almost all attempts to queue as a group of any size for a Secure mode match like we did before Slaughter mode came out have been futile.
-Because we are unable to get into a 72 Man Secure match, we queue up less for Frontlines because it only gives us the versions we don't really want to play. And we only join as individuals now because doing otherwise just results in a long wait with no queue pop. This means less games available for others to join.

In addition to what's suggested about about queueing weeknights, it's almost the weekend so how about everyone who is on board with this on Primal try joining a secure match on Saturday at 3 PM EST and see if we can make it happen. There are probably quite a few players who have only experienced Slaughter mode and 24 Man Secure mode, so they have no first hand experience with anything better and if more people can actually experience the game the way it was originally designed to be played when it went live almost a year ago vs the bastardized version we have now, that might encourage more people to queue for Secure mode in general.

You should make a new thread, an announcement of sorts. Posting it in this thread makes it almost buried. Also, usually there is like 1 week advance notice for these things (remember the cross data-center wolves' den battle a few weeks ago?). And 1 P.M EST is kind of early, west coast people are still waking up.

Good point, I changed it to 3 PM EST (vs. going even later since I know of some FL players in the UK in my LS who would like to be able to do 72 Secure again as well). Maybe Saturday would be a good trial run at getting a larger Secure match to pop, and then I'll start a new thread to try and get one the following weekend as you said. I figured what the OP has to say here is worth hearing and so that's why I wanted to bump this thread while I was at it; I think because people seemed to agree with it but it wasn't getting any replies, it was moving too fast down the list.

Yes, two days notice really isn't enough time, but perhaps as you say this saturday could serve as a "trial run" at seeing how we can do. A separate topic to announce next saturday would be great.
I havn't seen any 72 man Secures yet myself, but I'm really surprised at how active 24 man is. It was basically completely dead all but a few weeks ago, now I'm getting into it very frequently.

I figure most of the people we see on the forum who are PVP LS owners, or just major players, and who check the forums semi-regularly will prob see this between now and Saturday afternoon... if for no other reason than to keep bringing up how the GC restriction unnecessarily wastes our time (guilty as charged!). So anyone who has other FL players you queue with, see how many you can get to queue with you- and it may take a few tries if it spawns a 24 man first- to see if we can get one or more 72 man instance to pop. I'll give it between 3-5 PM EST with as many as I can bring with me from my server on the Adders side. Best case scenario is one or more 72 man instance obviously... but even if that doesn't happen, people who try should at least be able to look forward to one or more 24 man instance that they aren't having to PUG solo.

I'll report back on how it goes and post a new thread for the following weekend... but why wait a week to give this a shot, if it ends up working then it should be that much more successful the weekend after.

That was awesome one 72 person match after another.

I jest obviously, we waited 45 min for a 24 Man Secure match which was less than satisfying because it was a game of 'guess where the other people are' which is why I prefer 72 Man Secure. So it was an unsatisfyingly long wait for an unsatisfying match, the DPS's on team didn't have an LB to use on Node, which put enough points in another GC and made playing for 1st impossible, was able to hold another OP with my SCH and a NIN I queued with (the rest of the DPS's were PUGs we picked up and were all meh) to at least lock in 2nd.

Of course if another team was stronger and outplayed ours that's nothing to complain about that's the nature of the game. But the disappointing part is waiting a cumulative 2 hours and 15 minutes between 3 players for one substandard version of Secure mode that is all we have outside of Slaughter (appropriate name it slaughtered all the fun) because the GC restriction is somehow more important than our real world time. Yeah.

Unfortunately you can not queue at those times and expect short queues. Pvp prime time on primal has never been anywhere close to that time sadly (would be much better for me being european). Around 6PM PST is, and always has been pvp prime time for primal Data center. I queued solo at around that time on saturday for about an hour and a half and had 15 min max queues. I did not see a 72 man match however.
