OP, what? It's not even *remotely* the same style of dragon, visually. If it was at least a traditional chinese dragon (which is all Shenron is honestly, he's practically a template image) I'd say "maybe".

eeeeh, you guys are so picky. i don't think the point was that it was the same dragon/color, but the concept of an attack being followed by a dragon, or some other animal spirit.
there's tonnes of stuff like that in many games and anime; berserkers having an animal-shaped aura, that roar. or naruto having kyubi chakra cloak.
