Overmelding

Hey guys I am having trouble with my melds.. I have 2 Atheryte rings, (Atheryte A and Atheryte B). Atheryte ring A has 3 melds (compentance II, command III, command I) and Atheryte ring B has 2 melds (Command III, Cunning III). I am trying to put a 3rd materia into Atheryte ring B but it says i cannot affix anymore materia into the item. That weird because i clearly have 3 materia in the other ring which is the exact same, both are HQ.

I had a guildy origanal put the materia in there, then i logged of for the day and tried to have my friend do it who is also a lvl 50 Goldsmith but thats when i got this error message, so i tried having a different guildy (a differnt one than from the first) try to meld my materia but it kept giving me the same error message D:

Any help would be much appreciated!

P.S. I also cannot meld more than 1 materia into my HQ: Red Coral Earings, Electrum Choker, Militia Wristlets.

The PS suggests you haven't done the quest to get Advanced Materia Melding.

If the Icon isn't purple, you'll need to go back to the goblin to pick up the quest "Melding Materia Muchly" a lv25 side quest.

You'll need to meld 8 things in front of him to complete the quest, so you'll need several peices of gear, as you won't be able to overmeld until you complete this quest.

Sorry by I, I ment that no one can overmeld those items. Ive only goten someone to overmeld my rings but I have not seen that person on for a while so I cannot ask them to overmeld. I have asked several other people who have done that quest but even they can not do it. It keeps saying, You cannot afflict anymore materia to this item.

I my self have done the quest on my lvl 50 carp and have been able to overmeld, but these pieces just wont overmeld.

is it possible that if person A put 1 materia into an item, and person B tries to overmeld that same item, that it will not work? Must only person A meld and overmeld the item?

Were the ppl you asked GSM?

Are you requesting a meld from the person or are you trading the item to the person and they try to meld it?

Because if you request them to meld it BOTH you and the crafter need to have done the advanced materia melding quest or you wont be able to.
