New players should be able to buy low to mid level armours and weapons for affordable prices in shops because not everyone has the time to synth.

This will not happen, to be honest. The way of playing MMO is to socialize and obtain items you want either by crafting them by yourself or asking friends or buying in the wards. And about player's bazaars, i don't suggest you to look into them unless they have repair icon, 999,999,999 is because that certain player either had no space in his inventory or wants to keep that item for later use. Simply said, bazaar used as an additional inventory space
Didn't realise that bazaar items were a separate inventory, this wasn't the case in FFXI.
I still think that gear should be made more affordable in shops for starting players who are playing on their own.
Some of us don't have friends in the game to trade with, lol.
I disagree, the leves give you sufficient gil to purchase what you need from the local crafters. Theres already way too much freebie gear is my opinion. I want only crafters to be able to make the gear, you want something fork out the tiny gil they want or pick up a needle and start threading yourself.
Between spending gil to repair gear and spending more gil to craft, I can see this being a good idea from a DoW/M/L perspective, however it would limit the price at which crafters can sell their gear and stop them from even making any gear due to low profit margins. Maybe if the gear was not as good as gear you could buy, make it unique/untradable and have level gaps of about 10 (1,10,20, etc.), perhaps then it would be a good idea to let people buy low to mid level armours, weapons, etc. from NPCs.
