Estinien and Dark Knights (2.55 SPOILERS)

It is my theory that Aymeric is a Dark Knight. Or at least has a connection to them

If Aymeric is a DRK infiltrating the Holy Knights, then an outlaw like Estinien would be a perfect left hand, and what better way for Estinien to remain hidden from the Holy See than to be under the protection of the Lord Commander of their military?

Well, I think Lucia did say something along the lines of "those who are stuck in the past lose sight of the future" and I thought that might've be her commentary on the Garlean empire, but she was looking in Aymeric's general direction...

Everybody who's done the drg quests flipped tables at Estinien's reappearance, since he's supposed to be.. You know, a wanted criminal and down for the count.

When did he appear next to the Lord Commander? Was it the scene before Lolorito and Nanamo's handmaiden were talking because I stepped back in the room right as lolorito showed up post credits.

oooooooh..... I uuum... I skipped that scene...... Is that one in the journal?

I'm always confused at why people were so shocked by Estinien's appearance in the story. Yes he stole the Eye but that was kept under wraps by his foster father and his reason were actually pretty sound. He also didn't die in his fight with us. He lost himself to the Eye true but the quest texts says he retreated from the battle. Since his theft and latter actions were kept under secret, its hardly surprising he wouldn't still be working for the Holy See. He is after all their active Azure Dragoon and its not like they can make the Eye pick a new one.

I doubt Aymeric is a Dark Knight. I think the Holy See would have cottoned on to that pretty quick considering how public he is and the fact that he would be seen in combat.

maybe not a DRK in duty but the captain of them, he sends his subordinates to bring justice to the corrupt so he is in the light seeing everything and in the dark hearing everything.

Didn't he also say at some point that he actually wasn't nobility? If that was the case it'd be an almost perfect role for him.

It would work given that Alphinaud thinks it's strange that Aymeric's not a crazy fanatic like nearly every other native we've encountered. He tells the kid that he believes that Halone would rather see folks live another day than get themselves killed in the name of zealotry. Sounds a lot like the DRK description we're given.
