Typical Persisting Problem?

I just recently came back to FFXIV after playing WoW for awhile, its been a few months since i've played.

As the days pass I seem to have a harder time being able to play. I usually like to get on and play around 3pm eastern time or a bit later, and I can never get on. It will sometimes tell me the server is full and I have to wait, which is fine, but other times it will not say that, and it will crash the game on the loading screen to log in. This has happened quite a few times in the past few days and I sill have yet to get on.

I DID get on my alt, so I figured it might be an area population problem (Gridania at the moment of speaking), but then after awhile of being able to play my alt, it started to crash again, so now not only is my main character stuck in the loop of never logging on for me, but so is my alt, and she's not even in a main city!

When it crashes it's just a normal "FFXIV has stopped working and needs to shut down" error, nothing fancy with error codes. So I am sure its a damn computer problem on my end, but I just don't know what to do anymore because I've been playing this game since it came out and haven't had this much trouble before.

When you get the queue to log in the best thing to do is cancel the queue and retry, usually it gets you in right away after. I don't know why it does this but that's what I do when it happens to me and it works beautifully.

If you are getting constant crashed usually the best thing to do is uninstall the client completely then reinstall it. There may be a corrupted file somewhere that is crashing the client. If nothing else look to see if there is anything that is conflicting, such as your antivirus program. Sometimes they will quarantine a file that is not actually a virus but reads it like one. Norton is notorious for this if that's what you use.

The que thing happens to me quite often in Malboro too. Like what was said, don't wait just immediately reque and you should get in. I haven't had to try more than once on a reque.

ok, thanks! I turned off my antivirus (I indeed have Norton), and it didn't seem to change anything. I still got booted off, although now on my alt character, I will actually get into the game, but right when I get in it crashes. No idea why.

So, now I'll attempt to re install, if nothing, who knows. Probably my computer, I will admit it's a bit old for its time and I am sure it can use a huge update.
