World Transfer: Chocobo Racing

Apologies if this has been asked already, I wasn't able to find anything through the search function but I'm not sure if that was my comp being a butt or if there wasn't anything.

I'm currently at pedigree 8 on my chocobo, rank 15, but I've been invited to join friends on another server. I know triple triad is affected during a transfer but it didn't say anything about the chocobos that are currently active. Would it transfer over okay, or would I have to get it to 40, retire it and keep hold of the item in my bags and then transfer?
