Warrior of Darkness, I usually like the villains more than the heroes. Villains are typically more fleshed out story wise, though that probably has something to do with them not living very long lol.
Villains get richer story because they can easily do evil for good. But heroes are locked into a very narrow set of acceptable moral behavior. The worst that RPG heroes can do is home invasion and looting. You know, the potions and elixirs hidden in a flower pot in some villager's home or in that closet in the bed room.
Regardless of a way thou chose to walk, thy destiny is to be a background decoration for a Eras yet to come. Thy Path is already written, there is no escape.
Even if the idea was considered, it would eat up massive dev time for a watered down story of "good vs evil".
Most villains already have their stories set in stone and don't deviate much unless they change their standpoint down the line. Heroes will always do heroic things, but how they get there varies and sometimes it ain't so heroic. Regardless, nothing is truly black and white and the last few patches in this game has me questioning (in a good way) on what the real picture is.
I feel Warriors of Darkness are not villains. They are just dark counterparts to the Warriors of Light.
At least that's how it is in FF III and Dimensions. You can't have too much darkness and you can't have too much light, there needs to be balance.
thats why i loved fable series lol you could be good or evil but most of the time i was evil cause i liked the look at final stages XD
kills a whole village then buys every building available and charges maximum rent :P was always my goal everytime i played it lol
In a way I kind of feel like we have this a little bit. When you play the BLM story you're having to work with characters you wouldn't really think you'd become allies with, and you're doing pretty unsavory things for the betterment of the realm. I won't say anything about the ending so far in case someone reading this hasn't tried THM/BLM, but for me who chose it as their first/main class it's put an interesting spin on the main story.
"you are a warrior of light," "may you forever walk in the light of the crystal," and yet, I and other BLMs are very clearly told we have taken the black and that the light is shared with the shadows. Now I'd love to see this expanded upon, and from what I've heard about the Marauder's guild storyline they too have some questionable actions go on for a hero of light to be a part of as well.
Neither.
Warrior of Grey XD (or gray depending on preferences:P)
