You know the funny thing really is that they said that you need to complete the 2.0 main story to go to Isgaurd.
But have they ever said once that their locked behind Isgaurd? Don't know can't remember if they did or not.
Have fun.
Yes, yes they have. They said that the new jobs are accessed from Ishgard, and you need to complete the MSQ to 2.55 to get access to ishgard.
The justification for this is that the jobs start at level 30 and have no prerequisites beyond what I just stated, so it's a compromise to ensure people don't just blast to 30 and unlock a job they have no idea how to play.
Granted you ostensibly STILL won't have any idea how the new job's mechanics work, but you'll at least be familiar with the game's own mechanics enough by that point that making the transition is easy.
I have my doubts about them being locked behind specific jobs having to be 50, if that's the main assumed gripe. Now if your complaint is about the completion of ARR, then that's another story... one that just screams out for people to facepalm to.
I believe that it is safe to say that this ship has sailed, and it's time to move on.
Don't worry. Even if you clear the 2.0 storyline, I'm sure you'll quit for another 2 years shortly after you unlock DRK, because if the game didn't appeal to you enough to play for more than a couple weeks then, it surely won't now (you didn't even notice this same thread was already on the front page before you made it again, sooo). You could just use your level 50 MNK in the story. You could even do it before Heavensward even comes out so you can go play DRK asap!
(You will probably want some cross class skills from GLA, as there's no way there's DRK with no Provoke, so you'd probably want to level the existing tank jobs anyway... if you were serious about playing to begin with. You could even get tank gear for your DRK!)
