EXP Parties as an option please!

Alright here i go, looking for some Dev attention on this one personally.

In this game theres two primary ways to level up, Dungeons, and Fate grinds.

while both are great fine and dandy, i personally miss EXP PTs. They were a great way to meet strangers on the server. let's face it, most people dont talk in dungeons or Fates.

Im not asking for EXP PTs to replace the other two, i just want it to be a viable *Option* to those of us who actually enjoy the smash face Party grinds.

What do you guys think? I mean would it hurt the game to have it as a Viable option? I dont think it would youd still have people Dungeon and FATE Grinding, theyll prolly be better EXP, but i just get so bored of it, i would love some old school grinds even if for just a bit less EXP overall for the time spent, but having it as an option is all i want.

You already can do that, get 3 other people.... goto area....... kill.... have fun

Ignoring the fact that was the main thing I hated about FFXI (goddess I still have nightmares about 'dooms parties' - hells FFXIV even makes fun of the time wasted exp grinding in parties in FFXI (in the description for the Smallshell minion)!), way back during ARR's development Yoshi-P specifically stated he wanted to avoid old style FFXI exp parties and move players over to what he termed 'content based exp'. So, it's pretty clear SE considers the old FFXI style of exp parties an outdated relic from an old age.

Of course, nothing is stopping you preforming a party for a dungeon in Party Finder, or gathering up people and doing FATE parties, but you probably won't get much interest for a full FFXI style exp party system I'm afraid.

You can already do this.. System supports it rather well by providing everyone with individual loots.. Just get a group together for leather grinding or lower lvl spiritbonding, it's a good way to make some money too.

I see tons of EXP fate grinding parties. There is at least one on the PF at all times, it seems like.

I played during the Beta period and they used to have (combat) Guild Leves that you could do in a party in the open world, and it gave a ton of experience (though you were limited in how many you could do per day or per week). That was cool and I miss that feature.

Even FFXI abandoned the inefficient 6-man exp party in favor of the 18-man alliance based exp fest in Abyssea. Good riddance.

It's easy to romanticize it until you sit down and remember that you got 4,000 exp/hour in Crawler's Nest. No thanks, never again. Do not want.

Back in 1.0 there was leve sharing - is that still a thing? I can't remember.

First, you're ignoring quest exp. Even though it really peters out after the second job you're leveling, it's the source of a LOT of exp for leveling.
People wouldn't talk in exp grind parties any more than they would in dungeon parties, FATE parties, or spiritbond parties.
You CAN already do this, but there's no reason to as quests, FATEs, and dungeons give better, faster exp and aren't even half as tedious.
Even FFXI has tried to move away from this method of exp gain, since it's mindnumbingly tedious, promotes elitism, and is just...not as fun as slamming through a dungeon or even as fun as accomplishing even slightly different objectives for FATEs.
In other words, it exists, but people don't do it because it's inefficient.

And that's after 2 hours waiting for a party.

I have to say that even though I miss the idea of meeting and getting to know other players through something like this, it probably wouldn't be very popular if they were to add it in.
