Unable to change Hand Gear

Any Profession (Crafting Mainly)

Steps:
Change to crafting profession.
Have gear drop below 100% Durability.
Gear slot becomes grayed out.


Notes:
I've only seen this happen a handful of times when crafting and it usually happens to the hand slot item. I have the Ehcatl Smithing Gloves equipped (the lvl 50, 10 Ixali Oaknot token gloves) Changing class fixes the issue. When trying to equip something else with this bug; I get an error message.
