Leve Ranking & SP

If you didn't know, Ul'dah leves kind of suck compared to Grid and Limsa.

A while back (before the leve changes in 1.18) i was interested in knowing which rank 40 leves were the "best" (produced the most SP per time spent) so i started a spreadsheet. After 1.18 that was no good, so i started working on another spreadsheet. Well, it's pretty much done now and on my Google Docs here:

Not sure if anyone else has done this already. I know there was an old sheet that just showed mob ranks prior to 1.18 but i haven't heard of anything else since then.

Basically it shows ranks of mobs per star difficulty on all rank 40 leves. There are some missing on the rarer leves and in Limsa, but they will be added eventually when i get them. It also shows the SP completion reward ammount for speedy and non speedy completion, both with and without guardian's aspect. I also attempt to list the time under which the leves must be completed to obtain the speedy completion bonus, but these are all to be taken as approximations and most can actually be raised by at least a minute or so i think.

Good to know. I have only been doing leves in Grid with my archer and been getting really good sp. I tried one set in uldah after i had enough guildmarks for everything and was getting lousy sp. I thought maybe they had changed it to where doing leves in the classes proper city was giving a bonus but apparently uldah leves just give less now. Thanks for putting in the effort to do this.

No wonder gridania has been so lively on cornelia. I thought it was just because everyone was ranking archer and conjurer for the dungeons.


*edit my sig is outdated. My arc is currently r39 with most of that coming just from leves in gridania over the last week. Leves really arent that bad now. Get about 40-50k each reset.

OP, was this all done on a class/classes that remained the same rank the entire time? It was my understanding that you always get a certain % of your SP for your next rank as a base, but that was admittedly from hearsay. The numbers for the Limsa and Gridania leves are very similar to each other so I'm a bit curious. Ul'dah's leves have some of the worst enemies around (mostly the Zombies and wolves), so it's strange that the SP would be stacked against it, although in the interest of getting people away from Ul'dah it's understandable.

Grid leve = 1.5 times Uldah leve for SP reward.

For instance, all the Humblehearth leves done 5 star + speed + GA yield 4.5k - 5k SP reward upon completion, whereas Treespeak at 3 star + GA without speed completion yield 5,850 SP, all are within recommended rank range. Nine Ives at 4 star + GA + speed = 7456 SP.

Gridania get more SP than Uldah, this is true, because my leve party did them just not long ago at same rank.

However, the higher rank you are = the more SP you gain btw, so if you not test all of them at the same rank, there will be bias. (cap SP per leve = 7988 SP)

very nice work!! It's very nice that you specified the rank of the mobs according the the star level. It will help me greatly in choosing the difficulty of the leves!

I dunno about the higher rank and more SP. I got all these numbers while ranking up my MRD and ARC and i'd switch between the cities every other reset or so. It seems to me to be a static amount just based on the stars. I mean, i was getting the same numbers as i ranked up so i don't see how it can vary. But my MRD just hit 50 and i'm gonna start working on ARC again which is 45, so if the numbes do change i should see it.

However, i do set the stars so mobs are around 5 ranks ahead of me. Tend to go a little lower than that on ones with lots of dogs or other hard mobs.

I dunno about it being directly tied to rank, didnt test it myself.
I figured it was rather that any rank below optimal (rank 40 for rank 40 leves~) would reduce sp amount by a considerable margin.

That was all before your spreadsheet listening different amounts of sp per city/node but iirc sp amounts changed for me at same star/levenode after i ranked up.
Was something like lancer rank 28->29 while doing a rank 30 at humbleheart, 2 stars~

You only get less SP for under recommended rank, or over 10 ranks the recommended rank. For example r30 leves, you need to be r30-39 to get the full SP reward.

The SP differences are pretty small, 400-500sp at best but Gridania leves turns out to be less annoying than Ul'dahs or LL's.. Ul'dah's has shitton of moles, wolves, and piestes.. While LL's has too many annoying defense leves.. Camp Nine Ivies and Treespeak are the new hotspot on my server.
