Can we get a clarification on nq/hq system before materia system?

Hi SE, so materia system will be coming out next update, and possibly later a new hq/nq system.

While I'm not opposed to SE taking hard turns that it needs to, I am concerned with stuff that I may put materia on until the nq/hq update takes effect. I have several pieces of +1/+2 that I spent gil on.

Again, I'm not opposed to destroying 4 types of mats and taking mats to nq/hq and leaving the wapons/armor/tool system as is. But if thats not the case, I would love some clarification to help me not waste time and direct me to a more beneficial path of actions.

What will happen to current +1/2/3 gear?
will the new nq gear be = to current nq gear?
where will the new hq gear rank when compared to +1/2/3 gear
