Not able to accept the "Gone to Pieces" quest

I have done the pre-req quest "Life, Materia and Everything" I even have completed the quest to get adv molding and I am a lvl 50 carp so I also meet the lvl req but everytime I go talk to Syntgoht all he says is "Welcome, welcome! What might a discerning-- Oh, not here to buy? Then might I suggest you browse quietly? I am quite busy." He has the quest marker above him with a green check. When I turn into my lvl 37 Bard i can talk to him and it will prompt me with 4 different options

• Where's my juice?
• Gone to Pieces
• Small Talk
• Nothing

I can click on gone to pieces and it show me the screen where i can accept or decline the quest, i try to switch to my lvl 50 carp at this point and it wont let me. There is no way i can accept this quest and i have done everything to make me eligible to accept it but i just cant
