Can't hit enormous egg

during the Hatching tide fate... I try to hit the egg and a message saying my level is too high to take part in the fate appears.

Why? What level do I need to be? Why isn't it syncing me?

You need to hit the big yellow button on your quests tracker to synchronize your level (if this is what you are talking about ^^)

no such button existed...

I was a lvl 31 Botanist.

I just switched to a lvl 30 Ninja to see if a sync button would appear. And it did. I can now participate...

But it is a bug that it does not work with all classes.

You've never been able to take part in a FATE as anything other than DoW/DoM to my knowledge. Unless it was a special one designed for DoL/DoH but I can't recall one.

It is not a bug you can't participate with a disciple of the land class ^^

It should mention that somewhere on the quest... It was enormously frustrating trying to figure what was wrong...

the message I got was supreamly unhelpful... Should have said "can't attack FATE target due to not being a combat class." that would have cleared things up right away.

Happened to me too, error message needs tweaking. I didn't think to switch to a battle class before becoming a spriggan, and by the time I realised what was happening it was too late to get gold medal because I had to turn back to my character, switch class, reglamor as a spriggan and return to the egg. Fortunately the FATE appears often.

I have to agree with you on that. If there is no obvious warning then there certainly should be.

I kind of understand what you mean indeed, it should not allow you to turn into a spriggan if you are with a DOL class in the first place.
Hope your message will reach the dev team for future events like this one then ^^
