Low Level Roulette Trolling

I just finished my low level roulette and had to do Sastasha. I was playing as Arcanist Level 25. I noticed everyone else in my party was level synced and after we took some time to check each other's gear, with the lowest levelled player with Level 23 gear, we could have been put together in the best situation at Halatali and we had all stated that we were on our Low Level Roulettes.

We spent the remainder of the time using to chat to vent our frustration on why we were given Sastasha, when we could have gotten something that would have been much more helpful in terms of gaining experience levels for our current classes and were all in agreement that we should have had a better draw for our roulette.

Is there a way that the RNG can better reflect the levels of the classes/jobs of the players who are taking on the Low Level Roulette so that we are better able to optimize the oppourtunity to gain experience levels?

It's a roulette for a reason. Sometimes you just get things you'd rather not do.
While situations such as yours CAN crop up, the purpose of the roulette is to fill slots in lower level dungeons so that people who queue for them because they need them can actually fill and get to do it.
Your situation is a consequence, not a deliberate decision.

I'd say this is working as intended, the purpose of roulette is to pick a random dungeon that everybody in the whole party can join and to improve queue times.

The bonus exp reward at the end of the dungeon is automatically adjusted and gives you a larger chunk of bonus exp for dungeons that are lower level than others.

This was not the complaint I was expecting....

But you know that you get a bonus of exp at the end of the run if you're not lv 50 and go into a dungeon at a lower level than you....right?

You do realize that low level roulette doesn't just offer low levels experience, right? While the roulette itself gives you a massive amount of experience for completing it for the first time, it offers level 50s another reward for doing them, which is bonus gil, 100 soldiery tomes, and 5 poetics. While the 5 poetics is rather moot, the 100 soldiery is huge when working on many of the steps of your relic weapon at 50.

Based off of what you guys are discussing in your chat, you would not only denying yourself a faster queue time because you are lowering the pool of people you can draw from(since level 50s can join you in your dungeon) because your logic is everyone should get the highest level dungeon available to them in a roulette, which by nature is "random", but you are also expecting a far more complex algorithm to solve groups in the duty finder than is available or necessary.

This would be a different story if in the future they allowed you to queue together as a group for low level roulette after 3.0 because every current dungeon will be a "low level" roulette when the max level is 60, but as it stands, you are being rewarded as a person who isn't max level by receiving a generous sum of experience for doing that low level dungeon. Just remember that it's only once per day, and that the experience rewarded is vastly greater than what you would receive by killing mobs in your "highest" level dungeon available.

TL;DR version: Low Level Roulette already rewards you significantly more experience than killing in your max level dungeon available to you, and is meant to be once a day. It is fairly balanced as is.

Don't do roulette's if after a specific dungeon. Simple.

Sounds like you're the one doing the trolling.
If you're over leveled and over geared, then you should have been able to complete the content faster and had more time to do something else after.
Maybe you think it was a "waste of time" because you didn't get the highest possible dungeon, but actually it was more of a waste of time to "vent your frustration".

I'd understand venting your frustrations if it were something like, say, Aurum Vale or Cutter's Cry. This, not so much.

If everyone in the party is over-levelled and synced down, you're not "filling spots" in anything though, are you?

I don't mind being synced to a super-low level instance when there's even one person who it's actually level appropriate for, but it seems like a huge failure in the sorting process to sync everyone down for the benefit of nobody in the party. Surely if that happens it should be allocating you to the highest-level instance everyone in the party qualifies for or something like that, at least then there's a chance that somebody might get something useful out of it...
