Question about Jobs

I am a level 27 lancer, when I hit 30 do I unlock dragoon? I keep seeing you need to level more then one class to unlock jobs. :confused: Can someone explain how it works? Thanks! :cool:

Yes, to unlock jobs you need your base class at level 30 and a secondary class at 15. For Dragoon you need Lancer at 30 and Marauder at 15, then you will have access to the quest. You also need to do your class quests up to 30.

Once you hit 30 on Lancer, you'll have one final class quest, then the next quest from the trainer will be locked until you also level Marauder to 15.

If you haven't already done so, you need to go to Limsa Lominsa and visit the Marauders' Guild, there's a quest there that'll unlock the Marauder class. Do that, level to 15, switch back to Lancer and head back to the Lancer's Guild to pick up your job quest. On completing the quest you'll get a soul gem, which when equipped as a Lancer changes your class to Dragoon, and all your future job quests every 5 levels will come from the Dragoon questgiver instead of the Lancer's Guild.
