A question about leve allowance

Today I was power leveling an alt class. In the past, I've used leves on all my alt classes to get quick exp. Much to my surprise, I hit a cap today saying my allowance was at 0, and three battleleves would be available in 3 hours. Since when?! I've never hit any sort of cap heretofore. Just last week I was leveling up my WHM and I was running at least 30 battleleves a day all week in addition to craft leves. I'm sure this cap has always been around but I was just never aware of it. My question is this: Is it possible, in the months that I played the game leveling my main class, and not using any leves, could I have built up some crazy allowance? Is that why I've always been able to run leves without hitting a cap? And now that I have to wait for my leves, how is this system set up? Three leves for every three to four hours? Is this earth time, or play time? I have no idea how I'm going to level my alts now. Fate grinding? PUG dungeons over and over? Any info would be great. Thanks all

I had 3 allowances and got three lvl 5 battlefield leves, the next second, I abandoned them thinking I could get 3 other kinds for flame seals at camp drybone, but when I went to pick them up, it said I have no more allowances until 11 hours and 45 min. What is up with that? Do I leave gameplay and wait 11 hours for to get some flame seals? This is getting ridiculous. Now I can't do what I want to do when I want to do it anymore.

That's exactly it. 3 Allowances every 12 hours. They build up to 99.

Back in the day they did not carry over. It was 3 every 12 hours, use them or lose them. And this was before Fate system and low level dungeons even existed.

That's right, abandoning a leve is the same as failing it. It'll cost another allowance to reattempt. You should not have abandoned. You would have gotten the same GC Seals reward even if the leve is from another GC. (You can actually even attain the other GC Achievements via thier GC Levequest without having to switch Grand Companies)

Thanks for the info, Xenosan. I'm glad SE started stacking allowances because 3 every 12 hours use them or lose them seems like it'd take forever to get anywhere with leveling an alt class. I guess I'll have to grind some fates, or try low level dungeon roulette.

Right now the best thing is to do a little of everything because of the Challenge Log.

Do some Leves until you hit the 2 weekly Challenge Log rewards for Leves. (Leve it to me & Make Like a Tree and Leve)

Do some Guildhest for Guildhest Challenge Log Rewards, but be sure to commendate someone after it ends so that you also get the Exercising the Right Challenge completed as well.

Fates have 2 different Challenge log rewards too. One is for doing fates in 5 different zones. I forget about that one.

there are challenge log rewards for using dungeon roulette so many times, and there's the hunting log too.

What this guy said. I got Nin up in 3 days doing this. Guildhests have a weekly exp bonus for hests you haven't done that week. They pay off quite a bit if you are around the level or 5 levels past.

I really need to catch up on my Hunting log but for some reason my Challenge log is greyed out and I've never been able to access it. Is there a reason why? Am I doing something wrong? And, I never knew if you delete/abandon leves, its the same as failing it. That's a bummer. I wonder why I ran out of Leves so quickly yesterday. I had a ton of low lvl leves and abandoned them so I could pick up the higher lvl leves and was only able to accept a few. I was wondering, wtf? But that's good to know. Trying to find ways of leveling my alts quicker. Now that the rush of the 30+ fates have gone by, not many people in the lower zones running fates at all so I have to resort to quests/Leves. Contemplating transferring to one of the more populated servers to see if its better for the lower levels for fate running. The 1 class I wish I had originally leveled up back at launch was the Monk. Now, I've got my Summoner, Scholar, Dark Knight all 53+ and yet my monk is still 23, lol. Don't know why.

The bonus is actually just for doing each guildhest with each class for the first time. But there is obviously a challenge log entry for it. There's one for pretty much everything.
