Thinking of Transferring
Hello people of Balmung, I am a returning player trapped on a low pop JP server and I am thinking of transferring to a NA server. I'm trying to decide which legacy server would be a good home for me and wanted everyones opinion on the community for Balmung and if it's a good choice.

I enjoy the community here. If you're a role player, then you would definitely find friends here.

What Anavi said. Keep in mind, though, that Balmung is an extremely populated server. If you're aiming to get a house, you won't find one here for some time. If you're looking to find a Free Company and do end game content, though, you'll find plenty of opportunities. And of course, again, if you like to roleplay, you'll have plenty of that, too. If, however, you dislike the idea of roleplayers being all over the place, you might want to look into a different legacy server. All depends on what you're looking for!

Well seems like I'm gonna go for a transfer to Balmung ^-^ seeing as out of 3 forum post and a reddit post Balmung is the only one people have replied for lol.

I honestly can't say how it is on other servers since I've never been there. I can however say that I personally would never leave Balmung. Sure, every server has their share of trolls, spam, and community 'step-children'; but I have found that the vast majority of people on Balmung are quite decent. So therefore on behalf of the Crimson Phoenix, should you decide to join our server... WELCOME!

Good luck getting in! Hopefully, you can sneak past the restriction after the maintenance. ^^ Welcome to Balmung!

The only bad time I have ever had as a member of Balmung is when I queue for the 24 man stuff, which pulls players from other servers, and I see just how bad you guys have it on other servers.
Just did a ST run tonight where a player from Jenova spent the first 5 minutes spamming alliance non stop until he got vote kicked.
I will never EVER leave Balmung after seeing the behavior from people on other servers.
Have seen very few bots here, and even fewer RMT messages.
Balmung is a great place.
