Misty Veil, how to use it?

Usually I play SCH in pvp but sometimes (expecially after the CS removal, rest in peace ç.ç) I play SMN and I really enjoy it, BUT

Misty veil is an ability thet I'm probably understimate, up to now I use it when a BLM focus fire me and I'm able to see him, and when during node I try no nerf healer rande of healings.

But up to now I don't see any decent output, the time loss due to switching target to put it and return to the target to attack make me doubt about its utility to be honest :/

So I ask you, how do you use it?
Do you think it's a valid skill and have you enhanced it?
(If yes, do you think that it's a good choice? XD)

I used to use Misty Veil, but I could not see the value in reducing someone's attack/casting range. I've since placed all my points into INT, Wither and Aetheric Burst.

It would only really work if you coordinated as a team. Put pressure on a healer and cast Misty Veil on them or something while taking care of their teammates elsewhere. Could also save people from thirsty bards.

I have no points in Misty Veil (I either dual spec SMN/SCH with all points in SCH abilities, or go all-in for BLM), and don't see it worth adding to its own slot on the bar by itself (controller user so space is at a premium) but I don't want it to go completely waste. So I have a macro for SMN I wrote for 'range attack' I usually use against Bards or BLM's who are at range obviously, and are attacking me. If misty veil is not on cooldown, that's what it uses, if it is on cooldown it immediately jumps down to the next spell in the list in my macro that's also appropriate fore that situation, and if that's on cooldown it uses the next one which has no cooldown other than GCD. No DPS-hindering /waits are programmed into my macro so it will always use one of its three abilities, and if it uses Misty Veil and I want to use the next two I just repeat the button.

That's basically how I deal with letting the ability not go to waste altogether, while still ensuring I'm using it on ranged attackers vs someone right up on me, and letting it share space on my controller with a couple of other abilities so I don't have a dead spot on my crossbar during the cooldown duration.

Soo true, off topic, but when I run on my BLK, I try to make sure my reflex skills are on the X [] /\ O while skills I have to stand still for(like fireI,II,III) on the Dpad, so to not limit movement when I need to scathe, swiftcast, lethargy etc.
