SB question

I'm working on getting my crafting up to lvls that will let me make gear at high enough lvls to get lvl 4 materia. What ilvl gear converts to lvl 4 materia? Also which job is best to join SBing parties? I have dps and healing at 50 but I'm not sure which job to use. Thx for any info.

Any gear over i45 has a chance to SB into grade IV materia. The higher the ilvl of the gear, the higher the chance.
As for which job is best, it all depends of what type of materia you're trying to get---they type of the materia is influenced by the characteristics of the gear.

I usually bing Patricians set + Electrum choker , red coral earrings, militia wristlet. Dont try to bind the aetherite ring youll get elementals. Just equip 2 Meteor Survivor rings.
As class I prefer to kill mobs on bard but the most common class is WHM in Urths Gift but totally up to you as group kills add up anyways to the whole bind.

At Urth's gift SB stuff in the iL 45 - 55 range. About q 10% chance of IVs.

iL 70 has about q 25% chance of IVs, but you need to SB that in the Coil.

iL 90 has an even better chance of IVs. No idea what it is though.

ilvl 90 is 90% chance. Syrcus tower runs and some of the HMs.

Aetheryte rings have the chance to turn into anything, including elemental. I've personally gotten Savage 4 from atheryte rings. As such, it's more efficient to bond those than use up two slots you won't be converting. +1 just isn't enough gain.

Level your miner and goldsmith and make i90, hq or not.

It's closer to 75% TIV materia for ilvl90, at least the left side gear. I kept track of 16 sets about 6 months ago, 96 pieces total, 72 turned into TIV materia.
