siren

I just had to go back into Pharos Sirius and it just reminded me just how disappointed I was with Siren. I really dislike the music in there, it doesn't (to me) seem to fit the idea of Siren, then when you actually fight her she blasts random opera style squawkings during the fight. I guess I think of Siren as being a bit like a mermaid, meant to entice with music. She sounds as about as enticing as beiber.

I quite like her design and the rest of the dungeon is ok if nothing special, I'd just forgotten how disappointed I was overall.

I don't listen to Justin beiber, but I'm pretty sure his squawking isn't opera style. At least, if that's what the kids are listening to today, I'm more out of touch than I thought. :p

I thought the music in the dungeon was pretty fitting. Something haunting that will kill you if you find it's source. What type of music do you think that a Siren would sing? Only other style I can think of is what they used in "Oh Brother, Whereart thou". As for the fight being disappointing, I think a lot of people are just sad that fights like Siren, Diablos, and Fenrir are in game and they aren't anything SUPER special. I love seeing those bosses, but of course I want more.

Now several of the fights themes in this game are really cool until they switch into fairly generic J-Rock. I typically enjoy the first half of dungeon and boss music more.

The dungeon, music and the fight is alright!

Pharos Sirius actually has one of my favorite BGM.

I'll second this. It's a bleeding shame that most groups go so fast through the place that you can barely hear it loop. ;_;

Pharos Sirius has one of the best themes in all of FFXIV imo. I guess everyone has different tastes.

I love Pharos BGM, Siren looks awesome, but I agree her shrill noises she makes when casting a song is not seducing or charming its gross.

I'd just like to know why did they have to make her based off of a cacatua. They don't even sing that well.

Wow, I knew I didn't like her hair in FFXIV, but that's the first time I thought of it that way. I just remember at the time thinking that she looks too much like Garuda. Glancing back at her model in FF8, she had a LOT fewer feathers and bird-features in general. Although I prefer her design from FF8, I guess having us fight a huge naked woman with pubic feathers wouldn't fly well with modern graphics in a Teen rated game.
