Hatching-tide 2015

So, April will be here next week and I haven't seen anything about the easter event yet. Is that normal? Did SE said something about it?

tbh, I'm looking more forward to benchmark than easter event. :P

They may be dialing back the events.

Gear used to be the go to reward for quests but that's problematic due to long since exceeding the limit of armoire storage. People berate them if they don't get event vanity gear though. Furniture poses a lot of problems too.

Personally, I think one use unlock items like minions and bardings are the way to go, or emotes; just about anything that lasts forever and doesn't need to be stored.

There's nothing they can do that'll make everyone happy. There probably isn't even anything they can to to make the majority happy. If they're going to be abused no matter what they do, it may be best if they don't even bother and just get the important work done for Heavensward instead.

I love events, don't get me wrong. They add a nice twist to the quests we typically see, they give us a chance to learn more about the world (and the characters therein), and free goodies are always nice. I just feel a little sorry for them. They've built themselves into a corner by the server infrastructure and style of programming they've chosen to use and they're not willing to give up on their ideas when they don't work in the long term (for example the hard limit on armoire items that was exceeded barely a year after 2.0 release; also housing being a constantly sold out combined personal and FC housing neighbourhoods only situation with no private instances you can own/rent). These events demonstrate big holes in their systems. I wish they'd fix them.

Some events are just late or lately announced though so don't give up on it just yet.

they'll probably be announcing it soon. they don't really announce these events til a few days prior, and they also have the last semi-major patch before HW coming.

Me ._. I still keep my items on retainers/armoire even though I'm running out of item space >.<

I don't even care anymore. I hate events now.
I'd take minions, emotes and of course CLOTHE'S!
These housing things and barding makes me too bored of doing them anymore
oh and most of us don't even own a house....SOOOOOOOOO.........

If you pay attention to websites that list new items added via each patch, you would notice that there is no data currently in the game for hatching-tide 2015. That's usually a good way to tell when patches will drop. For example, in early February there was no data for little ladies day, so we knew patch 2.51 would be before March 3rd (the holiday in Japan).

I think we'll probably have to wait until next Tuesday for patch 2.55, and then a few days after that they will announce the event. As of now, no one knows what the item of the year will be.

I'm hoping that the low key items from the last few holidays is a result of everyone working super hard on Heavensward. I'll bet the outfit designers are busy making tons of new designs for 3.0, and the housing items are just easier to whip together. Don't be surprised this year if we have giant eggs to put in our yards, because how difficult is it to program a glowing egg shaped object?
