Heavensward Trailer

Was it ever stated when or how close to release we would be getting an actual trailer, or does SE not do that, and they just call it good with the Teaser trailer? I didn't play XI, and didn't play 1.0 for XIV, so I wouldn't know otherwise.

It was mentioned in an interview, the actual trailer will be released after the 2.0 series conclude, with the next patch. So it'll be pretty much. They didn't mention a date for it yet, as far as I know. The reason for it, is that the final trailer includes "flashbacks" of the events that we're going to witness in this new patch, and they don't want us to spoil the main-story, even though there're people that don't care about it (I do care). This trailer will show us why we're heading there too.

I think they said in one of the more recent interviews that it'd be mid April.

I recall hearing something about the opening movie during the Heavensward preorder panel. Might be in there towards the end of the video. Can watch the old panel at twitch. I believe it was around the 48-50 minute mark there was a slide detailing the opening movie. Not sure what was said, as its in Japanese. But you could check it out.

Edit: Just checked the slide again, It said Saturday April 11th , 2015 (Expected date) There would be a Live Letter and the showing of the Opening Movie (Invite Only)
My guess is only attendees of the live letter will see it. I doubt they will stream the opening movie, but who knows.

Why that scene?
Y: Well the reason that the gates were opened and why he wound up there are parts of the story that will be revealed during the main scenario in patch 2.55, so basically we cut it short to avoid spoilers. After you experience the main scenario of patch 2.55, you'll have a better understanding of what you've seen in the teaser trailer, such as his grim facial expression.

What's the planned release timing for patch 2.55?
Y: We'll be announcing that soon. [[March 31, already announced]]

So after the patch, you'll be publishing the long version of the trailer.
Y: Yes. Our PR team has planned to reveal the full version of the trailer in a theater that we rented out, and we'll be broadcasting that producer letter LIVE from the movie theater.

You'll be holding the producer letter LIVE from a movie theater?
Y: Yes, we have it planned for mid-April [[announced at last live letter that this was tentatively scheduled for April 11]]. We're planning to have several hundred players invited by a lottery. The full version of the trailer will be premiered at the beginning, and we'll follow that up with the producer letter LIVE.

Thank you all for the replies. On a side note, does anybody have an idea as to who it is singing in the teaser trailer?

They have announced a trailer for heavensward to be released on the 11th April (giving away 500 invites or something).

I think this is the full trailer for heavensward they mentioned in a previous LL.
