Question about Thav onions

It's really hard to find the right section for this, but perhaps somebody can answer this for me..

If I feed a Thav onion to a rank 10 chocobo and get it to rank 11, does the chocobo gain any stat increases? Or is it just for the skill points?

I ask because, I'm not particularly interested in running 2 different specs on the chocobo, I'm quite happy with just the healer skills unless being rank 11 vs. rank 10 has a stat difference.

It makes your bird bigger, tougher, and more capable.

But we can't see out chocobos' stats, so IDK.

P. S. I have three active characters with birds of R 16, 15, and 12.

But does that mean more capable in terms of fighting power, or in being able to take on more skills due to the more skill PTs you get?

Both. Look at the skill trees. #3 on every one is increased HP. #2 on attacker and defender is increased STR. #5 on every one is increased accuracy. #6 is increased crit hit rate. #8 on attacker and defender is enhanced STR.

And all those are additive....

Ohhh, I see. I guess I'm farming onions then :) Thanks for your help!

The other skills help you just as much, crit/HP/acc boost all stack up.
